Are you looking for a fun activity to do with your students when you return from Christmas break?  I have a super easy New Years STEM activity that is easy prep and will really get your students thinking and creating.

This STEM activity has two MISSIONS for the students!

#1:  Their crown has to fit around their head (not too big/not too small).

#2:  They have to write/draw their SCHOOL new year’s resolution on your crown.

Remember- this is a STEM activity!  So, you are basically going to tell your students their missions, show them the supplies, and let them figure it out on their own!

Each student will get a student booklet.  They get to plan their crown and think about what supplies they will use.

For their resolution, we go over some ideas together.  They all stem from our school rules of being respectful, responsible, and safe.  We brainstorm ways of how they can make themselves better.

Supplies:

Each student gets ONE piece of white 12×18 construction paper.  (This will not fit around their head, so they will have to think about how they can make it fit!)

I have several supplies available for them to make their crown.  Some ideas include:

glitter glue

scissors

tape

markers

pom poms

stickers

foam stickers

feathers

cotton balls

glue

yarn

sequins

Are you ready to get your students really thinking??  Check out this NEW YEAR’s STEM project HERE!
